Love is just lust precooked, need is just want overlooked and solitude is just the side effect of an alliance. In England in the early 1920s lived a beautiful queen who was so much loved to an extent that she got all that she needed at all times. During that time, the palace was well guarded and surrounded with many servants who were always at the service of the majesties of the kingdom. The only problem in the kingdom was that Freya, the queen wasn’t married. As duty calls, it was time for her to look for a mate. A royal feast was organized to bring forth all noble men for her to choose the best suitor to take the throne as king of Sussex Kingdom. The feast was organized by the best and only noble men, men who had social status and class were invited.
On the feasting day, all guests arrive in their best attires to the party, it is well organized from meals, song and dance among many other types of entertainment. It is a frenzy that carries all the beautiful magic of love with it. Freya finds this the most opportune moment to get a suitor. In her seat, closer to her best servant Nandeya, they engage in fruitful conversations each aimed at identifying strengths and weaknesses in all these men.
“Hey look at Lord Charles, he’s handsome and strong what do you think about him?
Love already was popping out of her, she had realized that Lord Charles was a potential husband, no doubt she would settle on him and make him his king. It was during one of their lone moments the queen Freya and Lord Charles, that she learnt of some heartbreaking news. A servant came to her and informed her that one of her servants had passed on due to old age. This came as a shock to her, she felt so dejected and worn out, she had known Zanen since she was young. To her, he was a servant who was faithful to the kingdom. This news prompted her to go and visit Zanen’s family to pay her last respects. Who knew fate was leading her home, that love would come forth during these time, that a dilemma would split her into two halves without a rejoinder criterion? During this visit, Freya interacted well with Zanen’s family members and shared in the pain. It was during this talks that she realized the servant had a son, servant zane. It didn’t occur to her that she was falling in love with him.
The two had many interactive sessions where they talked about the kingdom among other things, this didn’t go well with Lord Charles when he heard the news that the queen has been seeing a servant. “where did you see them’’ Lord Charles asked a confidant. “They have been seen mostly in the evening together walking in the park’’ replied Nzomo on of the servants loyal to Lord Charles. Anger gets the better of Lord Charles and he plots to kill Servant Zane in order to stop this competition. It doesn’t end well with him, in the fight they all die together. Lord Charles kills Servant Zane and later kills himself. These two deaths come as a blow to Freya, it was a hard moment in her life. She was devastated and unable to take care of herself. Solitude became here daily bread.
In the wake of all these pain and confusion, the queen decides to wonder into the unknown, she goes to the forest to take a solitude moment as she reflects on her life. Unknown to her, the forest wizard, an inhabitant of the forest looks and shares her pain. When he shows up to her, the queen is frightened but seeks to find an answer to her troubles.
“What will I do wizard? Freya asked.
The wizard takes a moment to say incarnations and later responds,
“My daughter, there is something I can do but you must make two choices, you must choose who comes back to life and agree to lose your beauty as the ultimate price”.
Giving it a thought over and over again, the queen agrees, in that very moment she realizes that she loves the servant Zane and that it is him who she wants. She confirms her thought and wish with its consequence and chooses to stay with Servant Zane. The wizard performs his powerful magic, Zane comes back to life and the queen loses her beauty in return. This epic story ends with a lovely life after Servant Zane accepts queen Freya without her initial beauty. This is the beauty of love, it is a sacrifice, a reality, an illusion only your heart understands. Love conquers all.
